SoundTwirl - Backing Tracks & Jam Tracks for Improvisation App Reviews

These jamtracks are awesome. Great quality, in terms of sound and content. And all tracks are notated as tabs - so you can really learn how the pros play. I play bass and guitar and enjoy all the different styles from metal to funk and from blues to rock. If this app hopefully one day will have the option to slow down the tempo and a better export function, such as audiocopy, it will be guitarists heaven :)

The sort menu overlaps other buttons on the screen using iPhone 6 and iPad mini and once you open the sort menu the next button you touch crashes it. Every time. Two stars because, if it worked Id love it.

How hard is it to make simple loops play back? Loops do not load and crashes constantly. Wish I could get my money back. Waste of time. And whats with the app icon looking like its loading all the time? Previews seem to load fine to get you to buy it but when it comes to using it they dont work. And yes this is the latest version app which supposedly fixed these issues.

Good stuff, This app is definitely made by musicians, not like the other ones I have tried. 1. The tracks sound great, well played and well mixed. 2. Everything is intuitive. 3. You have every thing you can imagine to improve your playing, scales, tablature, etc. 4. Its not only for jazz players like band in a box and other ones, the rock tracks are the s.. The only thing I dislike is the black background, but i got used to it. Improving my chops a lot with this app. I definitely recommend it

Unintuitive. Tracks all sounds the same. Not even worth one buck. Waste of money.

I like the jam tracks, but they do all have a strong similarity in tone and playing style. Getting others to compose and perform new ones in the future would help. My biggest issue is only having a max of 12 loops. For recording this may be fine (I do not, nor do I plan to, use this app to record). I am, however, interested in using it for practicing licks and scales. For this, I need an infinite looping option so I can play for minutes or even hours to work out new licks, arps, etc. Without infinite looping this app is not very useful to me. Ill likely have to rip the tracks I like so I can create my own infinite loops on the computer. The UI is also a bit tricky. Ive never liked swiping to get to other screens in an app. I think its bad UX, but I may be the only one who thinks so since so many apps use it now.

Read about it on premierguitar and Ive been using it every week since then. Awesome app. Tons of great sounding tracks. Easy to use. I can mute any instrument from any track. Really cool

Upon download, app worked great. bought some track packs and got to jamming. Once I closed the app it never reopened again, just constant crashing. deleted and re-downloaded hoping it would fix the problem. nope!!! Please fix the crash problem. this is would be a great tool for musicians.

These tracks are perfect for jamming with and making songs. Keep up the great work!
